We’re nearing the end of the regular season but there is still quite a bit of shuffling in each of the girls’ basketball rankings this week. While the number one teams in each class were able to hang onto the top spot, there are eight new teams across the rankings this week.

Other than Class 5A where several ranked teams again suffered losses, the poll remains very consistent from last week. The biggest single change came in Class 3A where there’s a new number one team for the first time in quite a long time.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: New Rankings Released
The biggest change in the latest girls’ basketball rankings can be found in Class 5A where six teams in the poll from a week ago were beaten. Otherwise, there is little movement in the newest polls released by the Colorado Preps Network.

With new rankings released, we can now look ahead to what shapes up to be a very important week for girls basketball teams in all classes. There are numerous top ten battles on the slate and those games along with many others will help determine league championships and post-season brackets.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: New Rankings Released (Jan. 16th)
Ten new teams can be found in the latest Colorado Preps girls’ basketball rankings. All of those teams are found in Classes 1A through 4A as the top ten in 5A remain unchanged from the previous week. Two squads also fell from the unbeaten ranks as Evangelical Christian and Deer Trail were both upset.

Seven new teams can be found in the latest girls’ basketball rankings released today by the Colorado Preps Network. Included in that list is a new number one in Class 5A where Highlands Ranch takes over for Legacy. New rankings are released each Tuesday.

Rankings have been released for the week as we do each Monday, we provide notes on why the teams are in the order they are. The biggest question concerned what to do with Broomfield as the four-time 4A champs were beaten by 3A three-time champion Holy Family in the game of the week.

Colorado Preps has announced new girls’ basketball rankings for the week. There are not many changes in several of the polls as top teams continued to post victories. There is a new number one in the 2A division as Las Animas was knocked off by Fower last Friday. There are also five new teams in the rankings this week.
