Lewis Palmer and Regis collide for the state hockey championship at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Both are familiar with the circumstances as the two schools have combined to win the last three state titles. Lewis Palmer is the defending champion as they dispatched Ralston Valley in the finals a year ago. Regis won back-to-back crowns in 2008 and 09 and in fact, they beat Lewis Palmer in the 2009 finals so tonight’s game is rematch of the state championship from two years ago.

Both teams are 21-1 on the season. Lewis Palmer lost to Ralston Valley in December but won 14 straight to close the regular season. They’ve outscored their first three playoff opponents 12-2 and that includes an overtime win against Steamboat Springs in the second round. Regis has been even more dominating in the post-season; rolling past three opponents by a combined goal total of 21-2. They’ll carry a 14-game winning streak into the finals tonight. Their only loss came to Rampart in overtime in mid-January.

Now the game can be seen live courtesy of the CHSAA Broadcast Network. Simply log onto to chssa.tv for the video stream. The puck drops at six o’clock tonight again from the Pepsi Center in Denver.

FINAL: Lewis Palmer beat Regis 5-2
