GIRLS BASKETBALL: PRE-SEASON POLLS ANNOUNCED

After finishing second to Akron & Lutheran the past couple of years, Yuma and Junior Guard Logan Hixson begins the season ranked #1 in Class 2A. Pre-season polls were released by CHSAA today. [READ]

BOYS BASKETBALL: PRE-SEASON RANKINGS ANNOUNCED

With standout Justin Bassey returning, Colorado Academy starts the season ranked #1 in Class 3A. The Mustangs finished second to Holy Family a year ago but the Tigers have bumped to 4A this season. [READ]

FOOTBALL: CLASS 2A PREVIEW - STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Chalk held in the 2A bracket, with the top two seeds advancing to this Saturday's state championship contest. Brush and Kent Denver both had to get past teams in the semifinals that they have a lot of history with. [READ]

FOOTBALL: 8MAN PREVIEW - STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

It’s been a chaotic post-season in Class 4A as defending state champion Pine Creek is the only team among the top six seeds to reach the state semifinals. Funeral services for legendary high school coach Warren Mitchell are set for Friday in Limon. Mitchell, who coached in Limon for 56 years, passed away earlier this week at his home in Aurora Colorado. He was 88. [READ]

FOOTBALL: CLASS 3A PREVIEW - STATE SEMIFINALS

Rifle battled the elements and Roosevelt to score a 15-0 win and set up a semifinal battle with Fort Morgan. Discovery Canyon and Pueblo East also battle this weekend with the winner advancing to their first ever state final. [READ]
