Four more games are on tap today in the Class 2A boyss state basketball tournament. Consolation games open the day with the state semifinals set for this evening at the Loveland Events. Colorado Preps will provide in-game updates and final scores on all four games.

8:30pm: #1 Sedgwick County vs #5 Highland
HUSKIES PERFECT SEASON IS NO MORE
The Sedgwick County Cougars used a 32-2 run to defeat the previously undefeated Highland Huskies 58-33. The game was a good one early as both teams traded baskets in the first half. It was Highand with the 1 points lead at the half, up 20-19. It was then that Sedgwick County said no more and they went on a tear.
In the third quarter the Huskies scored 13 points. That's all they would score the remainder of the game. As Sedgwick County began their run. Highland did not score the final 10 minutes of the ballgame, including the fourth quarter. The Cougars outscored Highland 37-13 in the second half. Highland was 1 of 10 from the stripe. Sedgwick County was 16 of 20. Leading the way for the Cougars was Chad Mikelson with 21. Koby Anderson led Highland with 9 points.
Sedgwick County will now play in the state championship tomoorrow night at 8:30pm. Highland will play for 3rd place at 1:30pm. Both games are at the Budweiser Event Center.
DRAGONS COMPLETE COMEBACK
The Holyoke Dragons completed an epic comeback to defeat the Paonia Eagles 64-63 in overtime! Paonia did lead after the first quarter 12-7. The upset looked like it was bound to happen as the Eagles also went into the locker room with a 30-22 lead. Basketball is a game of two halves though and Holyoke played the best second half by any team this tournament.
Down by as much as 14 at one point in the second half Holyoke fought back to take the lead with under a minute left. Paonia did regain the lead, but it was MJ Taylor with a layup with :2.3 left in regulation that sent the game into overtime. Both teams traded baskets in over time but 2 made free throws by Holyoke gave them the victory. The Dragons finished 8 of 17 from the stripe. While the Eagles were 7 of 14. Leading Holyoke in scoring was Austin Herman with 19. Paonia was led by Colby Simpson with 18.
Holyoke will now play for a state championship tomorrow night at 8:30pm. Paonia will play for 3rd place tomororw at 1:30pm. Both games at the Budweiser Event Center.
TIGERS BOUNCE BACK AGAINST GRIZZLIES
The Del Norte Tigers defeat teh Fowler Grizzlies today 61-38. the Tigers got out early with a 13-10 score after one quarter. After outscoring Fowler 11-10 the Tigers took a 24-20 lead into the locker room. Del Norte was on fire from three as they made their first 4 in the second.
The third quarter was much of the same as Del Norte stayed hot, while Fowler got cold. Del Norte had the lead 41-28 after three. The fourth quarter was all Del Norte as they outscored Fowler 16-11. Free throw shooting was key in this game. Fowler was 9 of 22 from the line, as Del Norte was 17 of 23. Leading scorer for Del Norte was Carlos Pena with 18. Quinton Flanshca led the Grizzlies with 13.
Del Norte will play for 5th place tomorrow moringng at 10:30am, at the Budweiser Event Center. Fowler finishes the season with a record of 20-5.
