Our weekly discussion with Tim Yount of On the Mat includes expanded coverage of the state wrestling tournament. The three-day event opens on Thursday at 3:00pm with first round matches in Classes 2A and 3A followed by the opening round of 4A and 5A at 7:15pm.
While the top five slots remain the same as a week ago, there are major changes in the second five for Class 2A this week including three newcomers as Fowler, Haxtun and Akron all dropped out with losses during the past week.
District tournaments are next up for Class 1A girls’ basketball as the top three teams from each bracket move on to the regional round.
