BOYS BASKETBALL: 1A District Pairings
District tournaments are set for next week in Class 1A and 22 teams will qualify for the regional round once the brackets are played out. Districts #1 and #7 each qualify two teams to regionals with the remaining six districts earning three regional invitations. Most of the brackets won’t be finalized until games are completed on Saturday but we’ll post as we receive them.

District 4 is gonna be NUTZ!!! Very tough 3 games for everybody!!! Best of luck to those teams, and whoever loses should keep their heads up
It shows how many good teams are in 1A, when only one of the top five teams in state are a 1 seed in there own district.
Now I like that they send three from most districts on to regionals but I think that the district champion should get a bye and the 2s and 3s play eachother to play the 1s to move on to state. And none of the teams from a district should have to play eachother at regionals, last year Fleming made it out as district runner up and had to win a game to play Caliche who got seeded number 1 dispite coming out of the district in 3rd.
Also, I believe Deer Trail and Stratton were just a district rematch. So why not just take the winner of that game at districts instead of having them play eachother again a week later.
I know its all about giving the "best" teams a chance to move on, but if one district is weak, they shouldn't be protected by having teams from other districts eliminate one another.
In my opinion this would make the most sense but maybe that's why CHSAA doesn't do it.
That is very true, not only those teams but so did Hi-Plains and Otis which went into OT if I remember correctly. I couldn't agree with you more NCL person! Of all years District 4 and 5 are with District 8 which has more legitimacy it seems as compared to years in the past.
How will the teams out of district be "true-seeded"? Is this a CHSAA committee meeting at hdqtrs or is it a committee made up of reps from the 3 leagues or districts involved? Just curious if anyone knows.
