BOYS BASKETBALL: 2A District Pairings
Most of the smaller school district tournament brackets won’t be laid out until games conclude this weekend as those results will also affect post-season seeds. There is however at least one district tournament that gets underway this week and it takes place in Southeast Colorado where play in District Six is already underway. Those results and pairings are listed below and we’ll update other brackets as receive them this weekend.
Brackets and pairings can be emailed to Colorado Preps at kevin@coloradopreps.com. Final scores can also be sent there or reported by text to 970.380.7737.

Haxtun is 6-2 in Dist.#2 & Yuma is 7-1 so I'm thinking Yuma should be the #1 seed or am I missing something?
Yeah, what? So Yuma wins the LP and gets rewarded with the 2 seed? I know Caliche is 1A, but you can't pretend they don't exist.
District 2 not based on league standings, but seeding games with 2a teams in LPAA. Haxtun and Yuma have one loss in seeding games. Haxtun loss to Akron but beat Yuma. The first tie breaker is head to head. They get the one seed. Yuma two.
Hey Kevin
they are true seeding for regionals this year and got rid of that auto placement they have been doing the last couple of year right ?
From what I understand, the district champions will be true seeded one through eight in the bracket and will serve as "hosts" for the regionals even though they will be played an neutral sites. Then spots nine through 24 are also supposed to be true seeded with teams 25 through 32 placed in the bracket mainly for geographic purposes. So under that formula, the lowest seeded district champ would be the 8th seed and then the top non-district champ would be seeded 9th and those two would be placed in the same regional bracket and so on. The top district champion should get the 16th seeded team opposite them in regionals under this formula.
I will be interested in state tournament seeding if the district champions all win their regional. Those teams were seeded one through eight after districts and if they all advance to state then will they be reseeded for state or remain in the same order.
will they use any geographic in the 9-24 seeding ? because if not it will be interesting how they seed the 1 through 8 because you will have teams like limon or lutheran and haxtun or yuma and res or Heritage Christian where one of them will not win their district but still be extremely good and for sure highly seeded in the 9-24
Yeah I get. Just thought winning your league mattered. Guess it doesn't.
