GIRLS BASKETBALL: 2A District Pairings
Most of the smaller school district tournament brackets won’t be laid out until games conclude this weekend as those results will also affect post-season seeds. There is however at least one district tournament that gets underway this week and it takes place in Southeast Colorado where play in District Six is already underway. Those results and pairings are listed below and we’ll update other brackets as receive them this weekend.

When might we see the District 5/Western Slope pairings?
District 8 will be a fun tournament due to that the top 4 teams have either beaten or split games with eachother durring the regular season.
You sure are right, should be some great games. It's too bad somebody is going to loose. There are going to be some good teams hitting the road from this district. Most regional hosts probably dont want to see any of these teams.Good luck lady panthers shoot straight, play hard!!!
Got to see Peyton girls play vs. Lutheran, Simla, and Vanguard. I would think Vanguard was happy to get the #1 seed, but equally unhappy to see Peyton on the same side of the bracket. Peyton creates match-up problems for teams that can't handle their overall team speed, and Vanguard struggled with this in the first game. It will be interesting to see what Vanguard does differently if there is a re-match. I would expect the re-match to be a closer game, but Peyton may be Vanguard's kryptonite. Either way, I believe that District 8 will end up with the most qualifiers at State this year.
It will also be interesting on the other side of the bracket to see the Simla and ECA rematch especally if Simla is healthy.
