Well i guess that settles the #1 and #2 seeding issues in 2A girls.
It should be a very exciting weekend @ Massari Arena

I think they got it right. I would have left Akron #1 as they went undefeated. Can't take anything away from the Lutheran girls, great run through a very tough schedule, but it looks like the committe thinks that a #1 should be earned on the court. Another thing I see is, they may ( I'm a Peyton fan and I'm happy with #5) have changed the 5 / 6 to avoid a first round district 8 rematch... Looks to be some really good first round games with Sangre/ Peyton and Vanguard/ Yuma. Not saying Simla (go district 8) or Ignacio can't play well and make their games good ones too , but Akron and Lutheran are very good . Good luck to all at state.

I agree that the seeding committee looks like they wanted to avoid another Yuma/Akron match-up and also didn't want all 3 Dist. 8 teams on the same side of the bracket. However, I think Vanguard drew the short straw this year. Vanguard vs. Yuma is a really tough draw for both teams, and the committee didn't show any favors to either team with this match-up.

I think Lutheran earned the 1 seed, but there are good arguments both ways. I think Sangre's seed is too high, although they had a great win on Saturday vs ECA in OT. Other than that, they don't have a quality win. I recommend watching the ECA vs Sangre game on Coloradopreps.tv, at least the finish, it was really exciting. The other seeds look reasonable, although Simla has an argument to be above Yuma after their impresssive weekend and what they have done the last few years. Even though you would rather avoid the league rematch with Vanguard, having to play Lutheran in the first round is a heavy price to pay to avoid a rematch.

I agree with the Lutheran seed as well, they are the real deal however i would look for the disrict 8 teams (vanguard,Peyton, and Simla) to bring it this week. I have watched them all this year and on any given night could win against ANY TEAM. These teams are all well coached and have the ablilty to make it all the way to Saturday night! It will no doubt be good watching. Good Luck the the GREAT EIGHT of Lady 2A Hoops!! Look for these girls to put up more points than the boys!

I am not trying to argue or take anything away from Lutheran because I heard they are great but I see why Akron is 1 seed they are undefeated and beat Lutheranlast year and didn't lose any valueable players so therefore you can't take Akron out of a 1 seed with out another head to head match up, that is what the seeding committee was thinking. Good luck to all!
