GIRLS BASKETBALL: Schedule/Results 12-21-12

Friday, December 21, 2012 - 8:21am

Looking down the schedule for tonight, it doesn’t take long to determine the feature attraction.  It’s the cross classification battle between Broomfield and Holy Family.  The Eagles and Tigers have combined to win nine state championships over the past six years but since neither earned the top trophy a year ago, both seek a return to the title game.

Broomfield won their first six games of the year before falling to Arapahoe 57-46 three nights ago.  Included in the 6-1 start is a decisive win over defending 5A state champion Legacy in the first week of the season.  The Eagles have also beaten Palmer and Denver East.  Holy Family is 5-2 out of the gate including a hard fought loss to St Mary’s 38-35 in the finals of the Tiger Invitational.

There’s also a busy night inside the 3A Western Slope as four league games are on tap.  League newcomer Moffat County has an important early season clash with Olathe but the Tigers are coming off a loss to surprising Roaring Fork (51-41) last Saturday.  The Rams are 2-0 in early league action and have a tough test at Grand Valley this evening.

Below is the entire schedule for the night.  Final scores can be reported by text to 970.380.7737 or by email to kevin@coloradopreps.com.
