It’s going to be a fast – and furious – last few weeks in the Class 1A 5280 boys basketball league.

With three of the top four ranked teams in the 1A classification residing in the 5280, a shake-up is inevitable. That will start Thursday when No. 4 Flatirons Academy visits No. 2 Mile High Academy.

Top-ranked Belleview Christian faces Flatirons Academy on Feb. 2, and closes with the Tigers on Feb. 14.

Denver Jewish Day (10-1, 3-0) has been on a roll since a Jan. 3 loss to 3A power Highland. Tigers senior Andrew Zimmerman, in a season full of big games, put together his biggest scoring output last Thursday in an 83-24 victory over Mile High Academy. Zimmerman poured in 41 points on 19-of-21 shooting, adding 10 rebounds. Denver Jewish Day added victories over Lyons and Beth Eden Baptist to run its winning streak to six.

That’s helped them keep pace with the No. 1 Bruins (13-0, 3-0), while the Bison (9-2, 2-0) aren’t far behind. Flatirons’ two losses came to Belleview Christian and 2A’s unbeaten Evangelical Christian.

Fleming moved into the 1A CHSAANow.com Coaches Poll this week. Heritage Christian and Vail Christian are new additions to the 2A Top 10, while 3A remained mostly unchanged, though Colorado Springs Christian’s three-game losing streak dropped the Lions five spots to No. 10 overall.

With three weeks remaining in the regular season, here is a quick look at the 3A, 2A and 1A classifications:

Class 3A

Class 2A

Speaking of Limon, the Badgers (9-0, 3-0 in 2A/1A Union Pacific) had a couple of games snowed out, but the team returned to the court Tuesday night against No. 5 Simla with an impressive 76-64 victory.

Limon hosts Colorado Springs School on Friday, then battles No. 6 Merino on Saturday before visiting Yuma. The Badgers host No. 4 Wray on Feb. 3.
