The girls soccer state championship games are set for Tuesday and Wednesday at Switchbacks Weidner Field in Colorado Springs. CHSAA recently changed the game times due to weather.
Across the two days, Class 5A No. 2 Fossil Ridge, 4A No. 6 Evergreen and 3A No. 1 Colorado Academy will all look to defend their titles. Class 2A, meanwhile, will have a different champ with Loveland Classical out of the picture.
Let’s dive into each game.
Class 3A
No. 3 Colorado Academy vs. No. 1 Kent Denver, Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Colorado Academy is looking to three-peat. The Mustangs blew a big lead in the semifinals against Longmont but survived in overtime to advance.
Lyla Kocher scored against the Trojans, giving her 28 goals this spring, including four this postseason.
Kent Denver won the regular-season meeting between the two teams, beating CA 1-0 on April 16 thanks to a goal from Lexi Morgan.
Morgan leads the Sun Devils with 14 goals this season. She scored twice in each of the first two rounds but hasn’t found the net since.
Class 4A
No. 12 Mullen vs. No. 6 Evergreen, Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Like Colorado Academy in 3A, Evergreen is looking to win its third straight title.
The Cougars got goals from Cameron Wedding, Elle Buenning and Gianna Weiner in their 3-2 semifinal win over Rampart. Weiner leads the team with 19 goals and 16 assists this spring. Buenning, meanwhile, was the lone scorer for Evergreen in its 1-1 shootout win over Windsor in last year’s final.
Mullen ended the bid for a finals rematch, beating Windsor 3-0 in the semifinals. Katie Luzietti scored twice in it, giving her seven goals on the season. Kaya Skach made three saves as the Mustangs have yet to allow a goal this postseason.
Class 2A
No. 2 Forge Christian vs. No. 1 Buena Vista, Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Buena Vista remained undefeated this season and advanced to the finals on Mae Blazer’s overtime goal against Frontier Academy in the semifinals Saturday.
The Demons had won each of their previous seven games by at least three goals before edging past the Wolverines. Blazer’s goal was her 27th this season and second of the playoffs.
Forge Christian, on the other hand, was blown out by each of the 3A finalists early in the season but hasn’t lost since April 7.
The Fury knocked out defending champ Loveland Classical in the quarterfinals, 1-0, on a goal from Emily Gilbert. Then they beat Denver Christian in the semifinals, 1-0, on Sarah Banks’ team-leading 12th goal of the season. They’ve yet to allow a goal this postseason.
Class 5A
No. 8 Mountain Vista vs. No. 2 Fossil Ridge, Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The last two 5A state champs square off: Mountain Vista won its fifth title in program history in 2024 before Fossil Ridge nabbed its first last spring.
In a rematch of the 2025 finals, Fossil Ridge walked off Castle View, 2-1 in overtime, thanks to a golden goal from Reese Morgan.
Mountain Vista, which hasn’t allowed a goal this postseason, got past Valor Christian in the semifinals, 1-0, on a goal from Hannah Carlson.
When the two teams met in April, Kennedy Lindsey had the game’s lone goal in the SaberCats’ 1-0 win.
