The biggest game of the season to date in girls soccer — at least per CHSAA’s rankings — is Tuesday night, with 5A No. 2 Boulder hosting No. 1 Castle View.

The Sabercats, ranked 33rd in the nation by MaxPreps, and the Panthers, 73rd, will meet at Christian Recht Field at 7 p.m. Castle View beat Boulder each of the last two seasons, including 3-0 last April.

In this week’s look-in on girls soccer, let’s dive into the remaining undefeated teams in the state, starting with 5A’s 1-vs.-2 matchup.

Class 5A

Remaining undefeated teams: No. 1 Castle View (6-0-1), No. 2 Boulder (5-0-2), No. 3 Ralston Valley (5-0-1), No. 4 Cherry Creek (6-0-1), No. 5 Erie (4-0-1), No. 6 Denver East (2-0-1), No. 10 Fossil Ridge (2-0-4), No. 17 Northfield (2-0-3).

Boulder’s Zoe Silver scored in a second straight game on Thursday as the Panthers played to a 1-1 draw against No. 3 Ralston Valley.

Next for Boulder are the top-ranked Sabercats, who beat Ponderosa 6-0 on Tuesday.

Below the top three is Cherry Creek at No. 4. The Bruins tied No. 10 Fossil Ridge at the end of last month — the Sabercats’ fourth draw in six games — then beat Smoky Hill 5-0 on Tuesday. Mikaya Rogers has eight goals for them this season, the seventh-most in 5A.

Meanwhile, Erie, at No. 6, tied Boulder 1-1 on March 13. No. 6 Denver East tied Fossil Ridge last week. And No. 17 Northfield has won two straight since starting the season with three straight draws.

Remaining undefeated teams: No. 1 Coronado (6-0-1), No. 2 Green Mountain (7-0-1), No. 5 Pueblo County (3-0-2), No. 14 Lewis-Palmer (3-0-2), No. 15 Palmer (5-0-2).

Pueblo County’s Macey Martinez scored in the second half against No. 1 Coronado last Tuesday, keeping the Hornets unbeaten after they rallied for a 1-1 draw.

The Cougars then beat Mitchell on Thursday, 10-0, in a game they had nine different players score in. They remain No. 1.

No. 2 Green Mountain is led by 4A goals leader Alyssa Hamilton, who has 17 on the season. In both of her last two games, she recorded a hat trick.

Lewis-Palmer, at No. 14, will have its true strength tested over the next two weeks. It faces 2024 4A runner-up Lutheran (4-1), which is ranked 12th, on Thursday. On April 15, the Rangers will host 5A No. 5 Erie. Then on April 19, they’ll travel to Pueblo County.

No. 15 Palmer, meanwhile, started April with a 2-2 draw against 5A No. 41 Fountain-Fort Carson before beating 2A No. 27 Thomas MacLaren School 2-0 Monday night.

Class 3A

Remaining undefeated teams: No. 1 Prospect Ridge Academy (7-0), No. 2 Delta (7-0), No. 3 Alamosa (4-0), No. 10 Pueblo Centennial (6-0-2).

Top-ranked Prospect Ridge Academy has outscored its first seven opponents 28-1 this spring. Madison Skinner had two goals and two assists in a win over No. 12 The Academy on Thursday, giving her 10 goals and eight assists this season. The Miners travel to No. 6 Peak to Peak (5-1) on Thursday.

No. 2 Delta opened the month with wins over No. 9 Vail Mountain, 4A No. 43 Eagle Valley, then 3A No. 29 Steamboat Springs. Jessica Black, who led the state with 47 goals last year, leads Colorado yet again with 20 this spring. She scored her 100th career goal as part of a two-goal performance against the Sailors on Saturday.

Elsewhere, No. 3 Alamosa beat No. 14 Montezuma Cortez 3-0 for its fourth straight win on Friday. No. 10 Pueblo Centennial, meanwhile, has beaten its last four opponents — No. 49 Pueblo Central, No. 52 Atlas Preparatory School, 4A No. 58 Pueblo South and 3A No. 57 Sierra — 10-0. Class 2A

Remaining undefeated teams: No. 2 Windsor Charter Academy, No. 3 Gilpin County (4-0), No. 4 Dawson (2-0-1), No. 15 Colorado Rocky Mountain (2-0).

Class 2A is the only classification in the state that doesn’t have an undefeated team atop their rankings.

Colorado Springs Christian (3-1) is still No. 1 despite losing 3-1 to No. 8 Forge Christian on Monday night.

Windsor Charter Academy is second and Dawson is fourth. Last month, they played to a 1-1 draw.

The second-ranked Firebirds, meanwhile, have outscored the other three teams they’ve faced — No. 35 Twin Peaks Classical Academy, No. 17 Campion Academy and 3A No. 54 Wellington — 22-0.

The Mustangs have already gotten seven goals from Kanoe Bihag, who has 109 in her career.

No. 3 Gilpin County is led by Jiselle Osteboe, who has scored in each of its first four games, giving her eight on the season.

No. 15 Colorado Rocky Mountain, a season after finishing 3-7-1, beat both No. 45 Moffat County and No. 49 Grand Valley 4-0 to start this spring.
