LAKEWOOD — Valor Christian’s girls golf team was able to widen its already clearly established lead in the Class 5A Jeffco League team standings on Monday at Fox Hollow Golf Course.

The Eagles had all five golfers finish in the top-10 of the 5A Jeffco individual standings during the third Jeffco League tournament of the season. Valor freshman Emma Nguyen led the way capturing her third individual title during league play with a 1-under-par, 70.

Nguyen birdied her final hole, the par-5 17th on the Meadows course to be the lone golfer to finish under par on the day.

Freshman Chloe Johnson (74), senior Aja Blankenship (79), sophomore Jadie Wilson (81) and sophomore Macie Womack (85) helped push the Eagles’ lead in the 5A Jeffco team standings to well over 120 strokes over second-place Ralston Valley at the midway point of the league season.

Ralston Valley senior Addison Hines recovered nicely after a disastrous start to finish second in the individual 5A standings at Fox Hollow. The lefty had a triple-bogey on her opening hole. Hines hit a wayward tee shot on No. 18 (9th-hole on Meadows) and eventually took a seven.

Hines battled back to shoot an even-par in the nine holes on the Canyon course. The senior had three straight birdies to begin the Meadows course and eventually finished shooting a 2-over-par, 73 to finish alone in second place.

Chatfield junior Reagan Allen (75) finished fourth, Columbine junior Anica Lest (77) took fifth and Ralston Valley senior Taylor Redman (78) ended in sixth. All had solid rounds during the ideal weather day at Fox Hollow.

On the 4A/3A side, Littleton senior Zoe Bar-Or continued her dominance. Bar-Or shot a 5-over-par, 76. Dakota Ridge junior Nora Hogan (82) took second and Green Mountain junior Brooke Perry (84) finished third.

Golden, Littleton and Green Mountain are still in a close race for the 4A/3A Jeffco team title heading into the final three league tournaments.

The next Jeffco League tournament with all classifications competing will be the final conference tournament of the season on May 7 at Indian Tree Golf Course in Arvada. The team and individual league champions will be decided that day.
