RPI standings have been updated as of Saturday morning so we continue to project out potential Class 1A brackets.  Official pairings will be released on Sunday with first round games set for November 8th and 9th.  The state championship will be played on November 30th.
Our pairings may be a bit different this time as we won’t have updated composite football rankings as the new poll from Packard won’t be updated or available until Sunday morning.  For these projected pairings, we  simply use the latest RPI standings and conference finish.  Also remember that even though league champions earn automatic playoff berths, they are no longer guaranteed a home game in round one.
The bracket below lays out very nicely as Holyoke gets the number one overall seed with Strasburg jumping ahead of Limon at number two since they beat the Badgers head-to-head.  We also move Centauri up to 5th and ahead of Florence and Colorado Springs Christian since the Falcons beat Florence and the Huskies then beat CSCS.
Paonia is the hard luck team at this point.  The Eagles are 16th in RPI but would be bumped by Manual as the Thunderbolts get in ahead of them as the Colorado conference champions.  They still qualify despite not being in the RPI top 24.
Again the bracket below is for projection purposes only and simply the opinion of Colorado Preps.  RPI numbers will be updated again after a few games in the division conclude today so there will be more movement.  Official pairings will be announced on Sunday.
