The playoff field in Classes 5A, 4A and 3A have been whittled down to just four teams in each classification so it's on to the semifinals for the largest three classifications. It was a very busy Saturday for the Colorado Preps Scoreboard Show as we recapped state quarterfinal weekend across all seven classifications. During the special playoff edition on Saturday, we also spoke with 12 coaches who gained wins to earn a semifinal berth. The interviews in their entirety are available below and presented by Bank of Colorado.
Quarterfinal contests have wrapped up and it's now on to the state semifinals for the Colorado high school football playoffs. Matchups of all games are below with home teams listed first. In combining for the last four state championships, Limon and Strasburg have drawn all the headlines in Class 1A over that stretch. The Badgers and Indians are the top two seeds in the bracket and again very involved in the title chase this year, but there are six other clubs that want to start their own history by claiming the crown.
Fresh battles dominate the Class 3A state quarterfinal pairings as only one of the four matchups have occurred previously in the playoffs. That’s between Holy Family and Evergreen but the remaining three contests involving Roosevelt-Fort Morgan, Pueblo South-Mead and Durango-Lutheran have never taken place in the post-season.
