Colorado Preps has released the Power Five rankings for week nine.  Here’s a look at Class 1A.

Next 3:  Platte Canyon, Burlington, Cedaredge
Teams to watch:  Limon, Crowley County, Highland
A couple of changes in the top five this week as Bennett and Paonia trade positions and Peyton replaces Platte Canyon in the top five.  Paonia fell at Meeker (12-7) in their first loss of the season but they dropped just one spot in our rankings this week.  Peyton was very impressive in beating Buena Vista on Friday so they move ahead of Platte Canyon who scored in the final seconds to avoid the upset against Clear Creek.  Peyton’s margin of victory over Buena Vista (27) was also larger than Platte Canyon’s win (16-8) so that’s another reason for the move.  Highland also joins the list as a team to watch for the first time, more so for their quality losses than a win.  They lost to Meeker by 10 to open the season and also fell to Peyton by just two points.
