Official pairings will be released by CHSAA on Sunday but the 1A boys and girls regional tournament brackets are somewhat easy to project since they are based on RPI from the end of the regular season. District finish and results from the past do not factor into the seedings other than the top three teams from each bracket qualify for regionals.
The Northeast bracket involves the top three teams from Districts 4, 5 and 7. For the Southeast, the pairings involve the top three finishers in Districts 2, 3 and 6. Out west, the top two teams from Districts 1 and 8 cross bracket with winners of each game moving to the state tournament. The other two regions will send three teams to state as all winners from games on Saturday advance.
Format is the same in both the Southeast and Northeast. The bottom six seeds play on Friday with winners advancing to Saturday against the top three seeds.
