State basketball playoff brackets will be released on Monday with first round games set for Tuesday.  CHSAA today did release their first official look at the seeding data which combines vote totals from MaxPreps, Packard, RPI and CHSAA to determine the qualifiers in each class.  For Class 2A, league champions receive automatic bids and then the remaining positions are determined by the combination of the four polls.  Below we use the official data from CHSAA to project out pairings for both the boys and girls brackets.

Please note that these pairings are unofficial but based on data released by CHSAA.  The rankings of course will change quite a bit over the next four days as the regular season draws to a close.  There is also concern of quarantine for all teams as a few clubs across the state have already been deemed ineligible for the playoffs.

CLASS 2A BOYS

  • #1 Wray – BYE
  • #16 Monte Vista vs #17 Crested Butte
  • #8 Mancos – BYE
  • #9 Sedgwick County vs #24 Lyons
  • #4 Yuma – BYE
  • #13 Thomas MacLaren vs #20 Center
  • #5 Sanford – BYE
  • #12 Meeker vs #21 Vail Mountain

  • #3 Peyton – BYE
  • #14 Wiggins vs #19 Atlas Prep
  • #6 Denver Christian – BYE
  • #11 Fowler vs #22 Lake County
  • #7 Holly – BYE
  • #10 Ignacio vs #23 Dayspring Christian
  • #2 Limon – BYE
  • #15 Del Norte vs #18 Holyoke

NOTE:  League champions earn automatic bids to the state bracket and while Custer County is not inside the top 24 in our current rankings, the Bobcats grab the West Central title if they beat Cotopaxi on Thursday.  Should that happen, then the Bobcats get into the bracket as the 24th seed and would replace Lyons in this scenario.
