District tournaments in Class 3A boys’ basketball wind down this weekend and several teams will earn automatic bids to the state tournament. Those invitations go to the top two teams from each of the seven district tournaments. The remaining 18 berths will be decided by RPI at the end of the weekend. Teams that finish in the top two of their district outside the top 32 in RPI still get into the bracket. District champions must finish in the RPI top 16 to earn the right to play at home for the first two rounds of the state tournaments.
Through the weekend, we’ll update the list of automatic qualifiers.
