They’re from the same city but it’s a new number one in Class 4A this week as Pueblo West replaces Pueblo South atop the rankings.  That’s because the Cyclones beat the Colts in their second meeting and now sit tied atop the South Central standings.  Also helping Pueblo West move up was a loss by Air Academy.

#1 Pueblo West (18-3)
#2 Pueblo South (19-2)
#3 Evergreen (19-2)
#4 Air Academy (18-3)
#5 Golden (18-3)
#6 Mesa Ridge (17-4)
#7 Holy Family (16-5)
#8 Rifle (17-3)
#9 Valor Christian (13-8)
#10 Palisade (18-3)
TEAMS TO WATCH:  D’Evelyn (15-6), George Washington (18-2), Pueblo East (16-5), Windsor (15-6), Centaurus (15-8), Durango (14-6), Discovery Canyon (14-7), Falcon (15-6), Mullen (10-11)
NOTES:  Pueblo West and Pueblo South share the South Central lead but each has a game with a Pueblo East club that’s spent much of the season in the top 10 this year.  The Eagles dropped out this week due to an unexpected loss to Pueblo County and that loss means Pueblo East cannot win the league championship if they beat both the top two teams in the rankings.  Air Academy lost two spots with the decision to Falcon and Mesa Ridge also fell one position with a quality loss to 5A power Lakewood.  Holy Family climbed a spot as they took control of the Tri Valley chase with their win over Windsor.  Valor Christian and Palisade enter the poll as newcomers this year replacing Pueblo East and Windsor.  In addition to the big matchups in Pueblo, Evergreen and Golden collide for the likely Jeffco championship on Tuesday and George Washington looks for the City league crown in their game against Denver East on Saturday.
