With the regular season reaching its home stretch, Stratton has taken on all comers. The 6-man No. 1 Eagles face another challenge in Week 7 as they travel to Otis. Both teams are unbeaten and this is a huge game not just in terms of playoff seeding, but for the league championship as well.

**

(1) Stratton at (3) Otis

Stratton has yet to be truly challenged this year and it’s definitely not because of a lack of tough opponents. Cheyenne Wells, Granada and Genoa-Hugo have all taken the field against the Eagles and have all lost by a combined score of 199-68. In last week’s win over Idalia, Cyler Notter ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns.

Otis got itself a thrilling win over Genoa-Hugo last week thanks its own standout rushing attack. Tayte Smith rushed for 217 yards and three scores in the win and will be crucial in controlling time of possession for the Bulldogs against the state’s top team.

Weldon Valley at (2) Fleming

Fleming is still unbeaten against 6-man opponents and last week was a prime example as to why. In the 57-6 win over Peetz, Nolan Japp ran for 103 yards and a touchdown on just four carries. He has been one of the best runners in the classification this year and should have another solid day on Friday.

Weldon Valley should be rested after getting a forfeit win over Flagler last week.

(5) Granada at (10) Eads

The Bobcats are riding a three-game winning streak after having to forfeit their Week 3 game against Fleming. In a 54-22 win over Cheraw last week, Maddox Coleman and Brandon Gonzales each threw for at least 115 yards. Coleman also ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Jones Guevara recovered four fumbles defensively which played a key role in the offense working efficiently.

Eads is coming off a 55-49 win over Walsh. Porter Spade went 7-for-11 with 110 yards and four touchdowns. Stockton Mitchek balanced the offense by rushing for 189 yards and two scores.

Hi-Plains at (6) Genoa-Hugo (Thursday)

After beating Arickaree a few weeks ago, Genoa-Hugo had a big chance to cement itself as 6-man contender in a game against Otis. The Pirates fell just short in a 37-35 losing effort. Try Smith put together a solid pass game, throwing for 259 yards and two touchdowns.

Hi-Plains has a forfeit win over Flagler, but has yet to come out on the winning side of a game that it has played this season.

Walsh at (7) Cheyenne Wells

The defending 6-man champion got back to .500 with a 65-6 win over Kit Carson. Ty Scheler rushed for 186 yards on seven carries, four of which went for touchdowns. The defensive secondary also had a day, hauling in four interceptions. Ethen Garay and Bryson Hyle each had a pick-6.

Walsh has dropped two of its last three games and would love to get a rebound win over the Tigers.

(8) Branson/Kim at Prairie

The Bearcats have been on a roll since its Week 1 loss to Granada. They rolled to a 70-26 win over Primero, their fifth straight win of the year.

North Park at (9) Deer Trail (Thursday)

The Eagles improved to 6-0 after hosting Weskan (Kan.) last week and getting a 37-7 win. They remain undefeated and held on to their spot in the rankings at No. 9. In the win, Elvin Castro ran for 194 yards and three scores.
