Couple of very attractive matchups in Class 5A take center stage on the boys’ basketball Tuesday schedule.  The first should determine the Front Range league championship as league unbeatens and top tens Fossil Ridge and Horizon get together in Thornton.  Then over in the Continental, #1 ThunderRidge gets another strong challenge from 5th ranked Chaparral.  The Wolverines are two games out of first but will try to hand the Grizzlies their first in-state loss.

Rivalry is almost an understatement as Sanford and Centauri get together in the San Luis Valley tonight.  It’s a cross-classification game but both teams are ranked sixth in their respective division.  And by the way, the schools are separated by just four miles.

Also a big night in the 1A 5280 with one game inside the Top 10 and one game on the outside.  #7 Denver Jewish Day meets #8 Denver Waldorf and then Belleview Christian faces Flatirons Academy.  All four teams have one league loss and share the conference lead so the winners will be tied in first.

Elsewhere, the Platte Valley-Eaton winner in Class 3A takes over third in the Patriot behind Resurrection Christian and Sterling.  And its’ the same scenario for Holy Family and Longmont in the 4A Northern as that winner nabs third behind Mead and Windsor.
