Two of the four ranked boys basketball teams on the court Wednesday night collide so that’s the focus of the entire schedule. The contest takes place in the 3A Metro between #3 Colorado Academy and #9 Kent Denver. Colorado Academy begins the night alone in first (5-0) with Kent Denver (4-2) part of a three-way tie with Manual and Prospect Ridge in third. Faith Christian, with one league, sits in second.
A second Metro game of note pits Prospect Ridge against Lutheran. The Miners, as mentioned are tied for third but they have wins over both Manual and Kent Denver, so a win over the Lions keeps them in good shape for a third place finish.
Outside the top 10, the winner between Simla-Elbert moves into a second place tie with Hanover in the 1A Black Forest. 4th ranked Evangelical Christian leads that conference. Dakota Ridge and Arvada West also collide to help sort out the top five spots in the crowded 5A Jeffco. Both are 2-1 in league play and tied with Columbine in third; all three are one back of co-leaders Ralston Valley and Chatfield.
