Colorado Preps reviews the top games from the across the state and updates conference standings and playoff races as the games go final.

CLASS 1A

FINAL:  #1 Belleview Christian beat Flatirons Academy 75-55

FINAL:  Dayspring Christian beat #7 Mile High Academy 62-60

FINAL:  #9 Denver Jewish Day beat Denver Waldorf 53-43

FINAL:  McClave beat Springfield 44-42

GAME NOTES:  Belleview Christian’s win puts them alone atop the 5280 race.  They entered the game tied with Flatirons Academy in first place but now the Bison slip into a second place tie with Mile High Academy.  Belleview also has a win over Mile High Academy and fourth place Denver Jewish Day so they’re in great shape for the conference crown.  They’re also battling several clubs for the top overall playoff seed.  Dayspring Christian handed Mile High Academy their second loss of the season but the loss won’t affect the Mustangs standing in the 5280.

CLASS 2A

#6 Sanford at South Park

FINAL:  #8 Holly beat Fowler 52-49

FINAL:  Thomas MacLaren beat Colorado Springs School 59-38

GAME NOTES:  Holly’s win over Fowler was their second over the Grizzlies this month but since it was considered a non-conference game, the two clubs remain tied for the Santa Fe league lead.  The Wildcats first win in the series came at the Fowler Tournament.  the actual conference meeting is a week from Friday.  Thomas MacLaren will end up second to Peyton in the Black Forest after the Highlanders win over CSS this evening.

CLASS 3A

#2 Lutheran at #7 Colorado Academy

#8 Faith Christian at Skyview Academy (PPD)

FINAL:  Gunnison beat #10 Coal Ridge 65-45

FINAL:  Arrupe Jesuit beat Bennett 53-52

FINAL:  Colorado Springs Christian beat Salida 67-40

DSST-Green Valley at DSST-College View

GAME NOTES:  Gunnison’s win over Coal Ridge creates a mess atop the Western Slope standings.  The Titans were alone in first at 5-0 but the loss drops them into a first place tie with Aspen and Basalt.  Coal Ridge has already beaten both the Skiers and Longhorns so they have the tiebreaker which means they’re still the league champion by beating Roaring Fork in their regular season finale March 6th.  Arrupe’s win in the Frontier was a big one as the Generals remain in a first place tie with Pinnacle and DSST-Montview.  For Bennett, it was a costly loss as it dropped them two games back and in a fourth place tie with Middle Park and Lake County.   Arrupe meets Pinnacle in a very important game on Saturday.  Colorado Springs Christian and Buena Vista are now tied for third place behind St Mary’s and Manitou Springs in the Tri Peaks.  The gap is two games.  Salida was also part of the third-place tie before the loss.  Buena Vista was slated to play Lamar but that game was postponed as the Demons have entered quarantine.

FINAL:  Pueblo South beat Pueblo West 75-48

GAME NOTES:  Pueblo Central kept their perfect run through the South Central intact with the win over Pueblo Centennial.  The Wildcats are now 8-0 in league play and 11-1 on the season.  They have a one game edge on Pueblo South and will meet the Colts on Monday.  A win gives Central the league title while a South win leaves both tied for the top spot.  South kept pace with a dominating win over Pueblo West.
