After opening the season with back-to-back losses, perennial state title contender Faith Christian looks to stretch their winning streak to three as they host St Mary’s on Wednesday night. The Eagles are 2-2 on the season after rebounding with wins over Alamosa and Canon City last week. St Mary’s meantime is coming off their first win of the season in beating Manitou Springs on the road last Friday.
On paper, the best game can be found in Class 5A between #3 Smoky Hill and #4 George Washington. The Buffs are back in Colorado after going 2-1 at a tournament in Utah last week. They feature four double digit scorers in the lineup.
G-W is 4-1 on the season and has won three straight since a loss to top ranked Rock Canyon. Sophomore Devon Carter (13.6) is their top scorer.
