Virtually all of the focus in the Saturday boys’ basketball top 10 schedule is in the smallest three classifications where two excellent matchups are set. The first is in Class 1A where #1 Evangelical Christian heads to the San Luis Valley for a date with #4 Sierra Grande. This game was put together at mid-week when both the Eagles and Panthers lost games from their schedule. Game two features #4 Limon at home against #8 Holyoke. The Dragons are coming off a solid win over in-county rival Haxtun on Friday while the Badgers starters barely broke a sweat in their win over Deer Trail last night.
The lone big school matchup could be a good one as 4A #1 Pueblo South visits 5A Air Academy. Both teams can score; the Colts average over 85 points per game and netted 120 in this week’s win over Pueblo Centennial. The Kadets put up 73 points per game and have won six of seven.
