After the quarterfinals round, three of the state’s four defending champs in girls soccer remain alive.
Looking to defend their 2025 state title, Class 5A No. 2 Fossil Ridge, 4A No. 6 Evergreen and 3A No. 3 Colorado Academy all punched their ticket into the semifinals this week.
However, there will be a new champ in 2A after No. 7 Loveland Classical bowed out to No. 2 Forge Christian.
The 5A-3A semifinals will take place on Thursday, with 5A’s games scheduled to be at the University of Denver, 4A at Highlands Ranch Stadium at Redstone Park and 3A at the University of Northern Colorado at Jackson Field.
The 2A semis are Saturday at North Area Athletic Complex in Arvada.
The winners of those games will play at Switchbacks Weidner Field in Colorado Springs next week, with 4A and 3A’s championship games to be played on Tuesday, and 5A and 2A on Wednesday.

No. 8 Mountain Vista vs. No. 13 Valor Christian, 5 p.m.
Valor Christian’s Ella Ashouri is scoring at will. Mountain Vista’s Molly Gaffney is stopping everything in sight. What gives on Thursday?
In the eighth-seeded Golden Eagles 1-0 win over top-ranked Ralston Valley in the quarterfinals, Emi Marlow’s first-half goal stood up as goalkeeper Molly Gaffney recorded her third straight shutout of the postseason.
Meanwhile, Ashouri has scored four of Valor Christian’s five goals over the last two rounds in wins over No. 4 Pine Creek and No. 5 Rock Canyon.
No. 2 Fossil Ridge vs. No. 3 Castle View, 7:30 p.m.
It’s a rematch of the 2025 championship game, which Fossil Ridge won 1-0.
These two have been the most dominant teams in this year’s bracket, too, as both have outscored their first three postseason opponents 8-0.
Freshman Kennedy Lindsey scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season in Fossil Ridge’s 3-0 win over No. 7 Cherry Creek in the quarterfinals.
Castle View, meanwhile, beat No. 11 Columbine 1-0 on the back of sophomore Julia Dern’s 18th goal of the year.
Class 4A semifinals (Highlands Ranch Stadium at Redstone Park)
No. 9 Windsor vs. No. 12 Mullen, 5 p.m.
Mullen has blanked its first three postseason opponents, most recently in a 1-0 overtime win over No. 13 Golden.
Windsor, last year’s runner-up, knocked out top-seeded Palmer Ridge 3-0 in its quarterfinal and hasn’t given up a goal over the last two rounds.
No. 2 Rampart vs. No. 6 Evergreen, 7:30 p.m.
Rampart has scored 14 goals through its first three postseason games, while Evergreen has netted 13.
The defending champ Cougars blew a 3-1 halftime lead to No. 19 Riverdale Ridge in the quarterfinals, but Nadia Leunig scored in the 61st minute to spur them to a 4-3 victory.
The Rams beat Cheyenne Mountain for the second time this season, winning 3-1 to punch their ticket to the semifinals.
Class 3A semifinals (University of Northern Colorado, Jackson Stadium)
No. 1 Kent Denver vs. No. 5 Jefferson Academy, 5 p.m.
The Sun Devils beat the Jaguars 3-2 in Metro League play on April 28.
In the quarterfinals, Hadley Carrington scored twice as Kent Denver beat No. 8 Delta 6-0.
The Jags, on the other hand, needed a shootout to outlast No. 4 Timnath after the game finished scoreless through regulation and two overtimes.
No. 2 Longmont vs. No. 3 Colorado Academy, 7:30 p.m.
It’s defending champ Colorado Academy against the classification’s biggest surprise.
Longmont won its first postseason game in 16 years a week ago, then needed a shootout to survive No. 10 Holy Family in the quarterfinals. The Trojans are 17-0 on the season.
The Mustangs have had less drama. They beat The Classical Academy 5-1 and have outscored their first three postseason opponents 16-1.
Class 2A semifinals (North Area Athletic Complex in Arvada)
No. 1 Buena Vista vs. No. 5 Frontier Academy, 12 p.m.
After a first-round bye, Buena Vista beat No. 16 Windsor Charter Academy and last year’s runner-up, Flatirons Academy, by three goals apiece. The Demons are undefeated this season at 16-0-1.
Their one draw of the spring came months ago against No. 4 Crested Butte, which fell to Frontier Academy 1-0 in the quarterfinals.
No. 2 Forge Christian vs. No. 6 Denver Christian, 2:30 p.m.
When the two met in Metro League play last month, Sarah Banks scored twice as Forge Christian beat Denver Christian 3-1.
Banks now has 11 goals for the Fury this season but hasn’t scored since April 25.
Lyla Scullion, meanwhile, had a hat trick in Denver Christian’s 4-3 win over No. 11 Front Range Christian in the second round. The Thunder then avoided an upset in the quarterfinals against No. 14 Middle Park, winning 3-2 in overtime.
