Cherry Creek likes to make things interesting.

The Bruins battled to a 3-2 overtime win against Kent Denver in the field hockey state championship game. It’s the second year in a row that Kent and Cherry Creek have met for the field hockey crown and also the second year in a row that the game was decided by one goal.

This is the fourth state title for Cherry Creek field hockey and in each of the four state championship wins, the Bruins won the game by just one goal.

Finley Katz scored twice for Cherry Creek and Hazel McDonnell had one goal.
