Fresh off the completion of the state softball tournaments in Aurora this past weekend, the fall sports postseason rolls on.

On Monday, the Colorado High School Activities Association released the boys soccer state tournament brackets for all four classifications. Play begins on Wednesday night with games in Class 5A and 3A. The 4A games begin on Thursday and 2A games begin on Friday.

Championship games will be played at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs on Nov. 12.

Class 5A

Legacy takes the top seed in the bracket after going 14-1 in the regular season. The Lightning’s only loss of the season came at the hands of Boulder in a tight 3-2 battle. Boulder is the No. 5 seed in the tournament.

Denver East enters as the No. 2 seed, Valor Christian sits at No. 3 with Broomfield entering the field at No. 4. Defending champion Grandview has had a rough season, but snuck into the field at No. 31.

Class 4A

With an undefeated regular season, Durango enters the postseason as the top seed in the 4A tournament. The Demons have looked unstoppable for much of the year, having allowed just seven goals all season.

Defending champion Northfield is very much in the mix as it grabs the No. 2 seed. Cheyenne Mountain is the No. 3 seed and Centaurus rounds things out at No. 4.

Class 3A

Colorado Academy has its eyes on its second state soccer title in three seasons. The Mustangs earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 3A tournament after battling through a schedule where they suffered just one loss (to TCA) and three straight ties.

After falling in last year’s state title game, Jefferson Academy takes the No. 2 seed, Coal Ridge has the No. 3 seed and Liberty Common is the No. 4 seed. Defending champion Roaring Fork is just outside the top four as the Rams have the No. 5 seed.

Class 2A

Vail Mountain packed its schedule with tough teams in 2022 and the results have paid off. The Gore Rangers are the top seed in the 2A tournament. Their 10-4-1 record is a bit deceiving as all their losses and their one tie came against teams that are in either the 3A or 4A state tournament.

Bishop Machebeuf is the No. 2 seed on the bracket, Thomas McLaren is No. 3 and Loveland Classical is No. 4. Defending champion Crested Butte makes the tournament as the No. 5 seed.
