Post-season play in baseball begins for Class 1A teams this week as clubs compete in district tournaments. Winners of each tournament earn automatic bids to the state tournament and the second place team also gets a berth if there are more than five teams in a district. The remaining spots in the 16-team state tournament field are selected based on RPI.
Four of the five district champions will earn the right to host the first two rounds of the regional tournament. Those seeds are based on RPI standings as well.
