The goal of the Colorado Preps composite rankings is to develop a more comprehensive set of football rankings. Teams are awarded points based on where they’re ranked by CHSAA, RPI, MaxPreps and Packard. Clubs get 10 points for a first-place vote, nine for a second-place vote, eight for third place and so on through the top 10 in each poll.
Limon is the lone unanimous #1 team in Colorado as the Badgers collected 40 points in Class 1A. Peyton was also the unanimous pick for second in 1A and those two join Eaglecrest as the only three teams to be placed in the same spot in every set of rankings. Eaglecrest was ranked fourth in Class 5A across the board.
There are also co-number one teams in both Classes 5A and 4A.
Palmer Ridge is ranked sixth in Class 3A despite getting votes in only three of four polls. The defending state champs are ranked fourth in three polls but are not included in the top 10 of RPI.
The eight-man division has the most teams receiving votes (15) and Class 1A the fewest (11). We list the top 10 below and also add every team that received at least one top 10 vote in a poll.
