The First Tee Colorado Rocky Mountains program may highlight the great sport of golf, but its most recent scholarship recipients do far more than what takes place on the links. In fact, Denver East’s Loren White and George Washington’s Grace Farrell are two of the most well-rounded student athletes at their respective schools.
Every year, Denver Golf’s non-profit offers college scholarships worth up to $10,000. These scholarships are awarded to deserving students who demonstrate the values of First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains (FTCRM). In the cases of White and Farrell, their resume speaks for itself.
White, the winner of a $10,000 scholarship sponsored by Girls in Golf, holds a 4.3 GPA. She was captain of the varsity basketball team as a junior, is on the varsity flag football team, and plays on the varsity golf team. She plans to attend Colorado State University after her time at East.
Farrell, the winner of a $10,000 Scholarship sponsored by The O’Sullivan Law Firm, is a club leader at G.W., as well as the team captain of the cross-country and track teams. For her post-high school plans, Farrell is deciding between CU Boulder or Miami of Ohio.
