The CHSAA Football committee met earlier this week and there are a a few possible changes in store for upcoming seasons. All recommendations approved by the committee this week must be approved by the full Legislative County in April before becoming official.
Some highlights:
- Class 1A teams voted against having the state championship game at a neutral site. There was discussion about setting up a doubleheader with Class 2A at CSU-Pueblo
- Leagues for the 2020-21 were officially approved
- An expanded 24-team playoff for Class 4A was approved for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
- 6-man football added more data points to seed their playoffs as they join Classes 1A through 5A in utilizing the Coaches Poll, MaxPreps and Packard Rankings in addition to RPI
- 8-man football will examine the idea and may add their classification to the amendment in April
