League championships are a guaranteed ticket to the football playoffs. Heading into Week 9, there are several titles that could be claimed through the weekend.

Below are the championship scenarios for Class 5A, 4A, 2A, 1A, 8-man and 6-man. With three weeks of games remaining in 3A, league titles are not a stake quite yet.

Class 5A

CENTENNIAL: Cherry Creek clinches with a win and if Eaglecrest also beats Grandview.

FRONT RANGE NORTH: Fairview wraps up the title with a win over Fossil Ridge. Both teams are unbeaten in league play. Fossil clinches the crown with a victory and if Fort Collins also tops Brighton.

FRONT RANGE SOUTH: Erie is alone in first and wins the title by beating Legacy on Thursday if Mullen also gets by Horizon.

METRO: Ralston Valley is atop the standings and gets the crown by beating Denver East as a result of Chatfield’s win over Arvada West on Thursday.

METRO NORTH: Boulder and Overland are both unbeaten in league play and the Blazers are the champs with a win over the Panthers. Boulder only clinches with a victory if winless Lakewood also stuns Westminster. Only the league champion earns a playoff bid.

SOUTH METRO: Mountain Vista is alone in first and takes on Rock Canyon on Friday. Since Castle View beat ThunderRidge on Thursday, the league title can’t be clinched until next week.

SOUTHERN: Regis Jesuit and Legend share the lead (3-0) and since they play in the final week, no team can wrap up the crown this week. Pine Creek (2-1) is also still alive.

Class 4A

DENVER METRO: Northfield and George Washington share the lead and since they collide in the final week, neither can clinch this week. Thomas Jefferson is a game back in third and still can earn at least a piece of the crown.

I-25: Grand Junction and Sand Creek share the top spot and they face off next week so neither can clinch. Cheyenne Mountain must beat Grand Junction this week to stay in the chase. Only the league champion is eligible for the playoffs.

NORTH 1: The winner between Frederick and Monarch on Friday is the conference champion. They are both 3-0 and all other clubs have at least two league losses.

NORTH 2: Broomfield and Riverdale Ridge face off this Friday and neither has lost a league game. Broomfield clinches with a win. Riverdale can only earn the title with a win if Longmont also beats Grand Junction Central

SOCO 1: Pueblo West and Montrose sit atop the standings and they collie next week to determine the league title and possible No. 1 overall playoff seed.

SOCO 2: Palmer Ridge claimed the league title as a result of its 50-13 win over Rampart on Thursday.

SOUTH METRO: Dakota Ridge is alone in first by one game over Ponderosa and Heritage. Since they’ve already beaten both of those teams, Dakota Ridge is the league champion by beating Golden.

Class 2A

EAST: Elizabeth and Kent Denver share the lead and meet next week so neither team can clinch the crown this week. Strasburg must beat Kent Denver on Saturday to stay in the chase. The Sun Devils are a game back.

INTERMOUNTAIN: Montezuma-Cortez is alone in first and can wrap up the championship by beating Pagosa Springs on the road.

PATRIOT EAST: Sterling has a one-game edge on Brush, Academy and Weld Central. The Tigers are the league champions with a win if Brush also knocks off Weld Central. Sterling and Weld Central play in the final week.

METRO: The Classical Academy & D’Evelyn are both 3-0 and they play this week. TCA clinches the title with a win. D’Evelyn can only earn the title with a win if Alameda also beats Denver West.

NORTH: Four teams share the league lead as Eaton, Wellington, Resurrection Christian and Berthoud are all 2-1 with two games to play. As a result, no team can clinch the championship. This week, Wellington faces Resurrection Christian and then the final week features an important clash between Eaton & Berthoud.

SOUTHEAST: Woodland Park is alone in first and is the league champion by beating Manitou Springs on the road this Friday.

WEST: Basalt is the lone unbeaten left in conference play and is the champion with a win over Middle Park if Coal Ridge also scores the win over Aspen.

Class 1A

FRONTIER: Forge Christian is the league champion by beating Platte Canyon and if Flatirons Academy is also a winner over Denver Christian.

LEAGUE SIX: Platte Valley and Highland are both unbeaten against conference foes and they face off in the final week of the regular season. With Highland’s win over Jefferson on Thursday, that game will decide the league title. Platte Valley has a bye.

NORTH CENTRAL: Wray is the league champion with a win over county rival Yuma if Holyoke also knocks off Wiggins. Wray and Wiggins play in the final week.

SOUTH CENTRAL: Monte Vista and Centauri are the league leaders and their game in the final week of the season will determine the championship if both teams are winners this week. Centauri goes to Trinidad and Monte Vista is on the road to Ignacio. Ignacio is third with one league loss.

TRI-PEAKS: Buena Vista and Peyton are both 3-0 and they square off in Peyton on Friday. Peyton is the league champion with a win. Buena Vista is league champion with a win if third-place Colorado Springs Christian is upset by Rye. Buena Vista and CSCS meet in the final week.

WESTERN SLOPE: Meeker took over sole possession of first place by beating North Fork last week. Now the Cowboys are league champions by beating Olathe if North Fork also wins at home over Grand Valley.

8-man

ARK VALLEY: The winner between McClave and Springfield this week is the league champion. Both teams are unbeaten in conference play.

BLACK FOREST: Byers is the league champion by beating Calhan on Friday. If that happens, then the winner of Simla/Elbert on Saturday should finish second.

CENTRAL: With a win over Justice on Thursday, Clear Creek will claim the title if Belleview Christian beats Front Range Christian. Front Range Christian stays alive for the title with a win as they meet Clear Creek in the final week.

MOUNTAIN: Mancos is the league champion with a win over Norwood on Friday.

NORTHWEST: West Grand has a bye this week but has already clinched the league championship.

PLAINS: Haxtun and Sedgwick County enter the weekend tied for the top spot and both are unbeaten against league rivals. Since they play in the final week, neither the Bulldogs or Cougars can win the title this week.

SIX-COUNTY: Hoehne is the league leader and wraps up the title by beating Custer County if Fowler also takes out Walsenburg. Walsenburg stays alive for the championship with a win as they face Hoehne in the final week of play.

8-man

SOUTHEAST: Cheyenne Wells has clinched the championship.

NORTH: Caliche and Fleming remain unbeaten in league play so their head-to-head matchup next week will determine the champion.

SOUTHWEST: Sierra Grande has clinched the league title.

EAST CENTRAL: Stratton has wrapped up the conference crown.

CENTRAL: Hanover has won the championship.
