Our list of top games gets reduced in number each week as we focus mainly on conference championship races. Our Friday GameDay Report looks at these types of matchups in each class and gets you ready for a night of football.
Contests listed in bold are games where we will visit with the winning coach or a media representative on our Scoreboard Show tonight. It airs from 9:30-11:00pm each Friday on the Colorado Preps Radio Network.
Please note that the games we select are Friday contests only. We produce a similar report each Saturday for contests slated for that day.
For our weekly audio preview, please listen to our latest Colorado PrepsCast where we run through the top games for the entire weekend.
A list of conference champions is available and we’ll update the story through the weekend. And you can see league standings by clicking here. Simply choose your division and the standings come up and will be updated as each game goes final.

CLASS 5A
Cherokee Trail (7-1) at Cherry Creek (8-0)
Pomona (6-2) at Columbine (8-0)
NOTES: Both games listed are top 10 battles with Cherokee Trail #10 and Cherry Creek #1 in the latest rankings. Pomona is 4th and Columbine 3rd this week. Columbine clinches the Metro West title with a win. Pomona can only clinch with a win if Ralston Valley loses at Lakewood on Saturday. Cherry Creek needs a win to stay alone atop the Metro East. They can only clinch with a win if Grandview is also upset by Overland. If Cherokee Trail lands the win, then the Cougars are tied with Creek, Grandview and Eaglecrest in a four-way tie for the lead.
CLASS 4A
Vista Peak (6-1) at Standley Lake (5-2)
Pueblo West (5-2) at Air Academy (6-1)
NOTES: In both cases, the winner will likely remain tied with another club atop their conference standings. Vista Peak and Standley Lake are both 2-0 and tied with Fruita Monument in the Pioneer. The Wildcats play at Hinkley on Saturday. Pueblo West and Air Academy share the Southern 2 lead with Rampart. All three teams are 2-0 and the Rams meet Coronado.
CLASS 3A
Thomas Jefferson (6-1) at Palmer Ridge (5-2)
Green Mountain (5-2) at Evergreen (4-3)
Pueblo South (2-5) at Durango (5-2)
Glenwood Springs (2-5) at Battle Mountain (6-1)
NOTES: Thomas Jefferson is coming off a loss to Discovery Canyon so they must beat the defending state champions to remain in the Central title chase. Palmer Ridge and Discovery Canyon share the lead at 2-0. The winner between Green Mountain-Evergreen is alone atop the Mt Metro race. Both are 2-0 in league play. Pueblo East won on Thursday so Durango now needs a win over Pueblo South to keep pace atop the South Central. Battle Mountain begins the week tied with Palisade for the Western Slope lead. The Bulldogs are favored against Eagle Valley so Battle Mountain will need a win to stay tied.
CLASS 2A
Basalt (7-0) at Rifle (6-1)
La Junta (7-0) at Classical Academy (3-4)
Academy (3-4) at Resurrection Christian (7-0)
Bayfield (5-1) at Pagosa Springs (3-4)
Englewood (5-2) at Machebeuf (5-2)
NOTES: The outcome between Basalt-Rifle will impact the top three spots in the Western Slope. Basalt stands alone at 3-0 with Rifle tied with Aspen at 2-1. Aspen plays Coal Ridge and if the Skiers win, no league team can clinch the title. La Junta and Resurrection Christian land league championships with wins on Friday. Bayfield also needs a win at Pagosa Springs to keep pace with Salida atop the Intermountain. The Spartans beat Montezuma-Cortez on Thursday. Machebeuf needs a win to stay up with Kent Denver in the Colorado league. The Sun Devils moved to 3-0 by beating Alameda on Thursday.
CLASS 1A
Meeker (4-2) at Olathe (4-3)
Centauri (6-1) at Florence (6-1)
Manual (3-4) at Clear Creek (4-3)
Wray (4-3) at Limon (7-0)
NOTES:  Meeker lands a third-straight Western Slope title with a win at Olathe. A Pirates win creates a likely three-way tie between the two and Paonia. The Eagles meet Grand Valley. Centauri and Florence is a non-league game but impacts the RPI. The Falcons are 7th and Huskies 7th. Manual needs a win to keep pace with Platte Canyon in the Foothills league. Clear Creek is alone in third and the only way the Golddiggers get into the playoffs is with a win this week and a Manual win over Platte Canyon. Then they would need to win the tiebreaker as they’re 25th in RPI.   Manual is 27th. Limon is battling Peyton for the top overall playoff as they sit 1-2 in the RPI this week. Wray is 15th and will be boosted in strength of schedule and will climb even more with an upset.
EIGHT MAN
Fowler (5-2) at Springfield (4-3)
Holly (5-2) at McClave (3-4)
Soroco (5-2) at West Grand (7-0)
Caliche (6-1) at Sedgwick County (6-0)
NOTES: Hoehne can clinch the Ark Valley title by beating Wiley tonight but the other two games are important to second place. Holly and Springfield share the spot at 3-1 with Fowler and McClave are both 2-2 so if the Grizzlies and Cardinals grab wins, all four teams will be tied going into the final week. West Grand clinches the Northwest title with a win over Soroco while the winner between Sedgwick County-Caliche lands the Plains championship.
SIX MAN
Otis (5-2) at Arickaree/Woodlin (4-2)
Walsh (3-3) at Granada (3-4)
Prairie (4-3) at Cotopaxi (6-1)
NOTES: All league champions have been determined so there’s not much on the line tonight. The winner between Otis-Arickaree/Woodlin gains second place behind Stratton/Liberty in the East Central. Granada secures second behind Kit Carson in the Southeast with a win over Walsh and that result also gives third place to Cheyenne Wells. If Walsh wins, they create three-way tie for second with the Bobcats and Tigers. The Eagles are also 18th in RPI and could use a win to boost their playoff hopes.  Prairie and Cotopaxi is a non-league game but important to RPI as the Mustangs are 8th in points and the Pirates 11th.
