As the schedule moves into February and conference races heat up, Colorado Preps will spend each night breaking down results and how they impact league races.  Check back throughout the night as we’ll update as scores are reported.

CLASS 1A

  • In what could be a preview of a regional final, defending state champion Flatirons Academy rolled past North Park 88-54.  The two districts are paired in regional play with the champion of each facing the runner-up of the other.  Flatirons Academy is the expected district champion and North Park could battle Dove Creek for the Western title.  Dove Creek would be favored in that game which would set up North Park to face Flatirons Academy in a regional final in late February.
  • Stratton is now alone in third in the Union Pacific thanks to their 36-17 win at Byers on Monday.  The Eagles remain one back of co-leaders Limon and Burlington who play later this week.

CLASS 2A

  • Rye continues to roll past Santa Fe league opponents as they downed Swallows Charter 70-24.  The win keeps the Thunderbolts unbeaten on the season and tied with Hoehne atop the conference standings.  Those two play tomorrow night.
  • Peyton and Calhan share the Black Forest lead and will play later in the season to likely determine the championship.  We got a preview of that game tonight as the two local rivals clashed in a non-league game.  Peyton grabbed the easy 58-21 win.
  • Dayspring Christian’s easy 70-12 win over Dawson allows them to stay unbeaten in the Mile High conference.  They remain tied with Heritage Christian for the league lead.

CLASS 3A

  • A rare Monday night game inside the Intermountain went to Alamosa as they topped Bayfield 65-27.  The win kept the Moose alone atop the league standings as they lead Centauri by one game.  The Falcons challenge Alamosa on Friday.

CLASS 4A

  • Thompson Valley stayed alone in second behind Roosevelt in the Longs Peak by beating Mountain View 59-23.  The Eagles need just one more win to clinch no worse than second.
  • Pueblo West keeps sole possession of the South Central lead by beating Pueblo Central 61-30.  The Cyclones are 5-0 in conference play.
