The busiest division by far in the Wednesday girls’ basketball schedule is Class 4A where six ranked teams step on the court.  Five of them, all but 3rd ranked Green Mountain, begin play in the crossover tournament featuring clubs from the Northern and Longs Peak conferences.  That bracket extends into next week with top ranked Windsor the overall favorite.  The Wizards won the Northern title with Roosevelt the champion from the Longs Peak division.

Green Mountain meantime hopes to avoid a letdown in a so-called sandwich game with Evergreen.  The Rams are coming off a strong effort in Tuesday’s loss to 5A power Cherry Creek and this Friday they battle D’Evelyn in what should be the 4A Jeffco championship game.

Colorado Preps will also add our Tuesday blog to the website as games go final.  That’s where we breakdown what results mean to conference races and playoff positioning.

Outside the rankings, Simla looks to keep a share of the 1A Black Forest lead with ECA by beating Elbert.  The Cubs beat Kiowa last week who has a win over Elbert from earlier in the year.  In the 2A Black Forest, Peyton needs a win over Fountain Valley to maintain sole possession of the conference lead.

Below is the entire schedule for top 10 teams.  We’ll update scores throughout the night and then below the rankings, update some games that impact league championship races.  Final scores can be sent to Colorado Preps by text to 970.380.7737.
