Only six top 10 girls’ basketball teams are in action on Tuesday but at least one game will carry heavy importance for the postseason. That contest is found in Class 1A where #7 Lone Star and Idalia open the second half of the season with a likely league championship game. The winner becomes the favorite to land the YWKC championship at years end.
Another good rivalry game is found in Class 4A where #9 D’Evelyn celebrates top 10 billing by playing long-time nemesis Golden. Out west, Coal Ridge is another newcomer to the rankings (3A) and they begin that run against Grand Junction Central. Each team enters the attractive contest with just one loss on the season overall.
