Tuesday night brings another good round of girls’ basketball across the state as top clubs continue their drive to a league championship and high playoff seed.  Some of the best matchups include Wray vs Burlington, Eaton at University, George Washington at Highlands Ranch and Chaparral vs Rangeview.

Our coverage will change gears this week and next as instead of previewing matchups during the morning and then updating with scores, we instead will wait until scores come in and then update what those results mean.  Check with us throughout the night as we update scores from the games below and then provide notes on how the conference standings and/or playoff picture changes.

Final scores can be reported to us by text at 970.380.7737 or by email to [email protected].

GAME NOTES:  Wray snapped a two-game skid and improved to 8-2 with a home win over Burlington.  The Cougars slid to 7-3 with the loss but remains in strong contention for a playoff berth.  They were 13th in RPI to start the game with Wray 12th.  Wray is scheduled to play Holyoke later this week but that game will now be meaningless to the Lower Platte championship as Holyoke clinched the crown with their win over Haxtun.  The Dragons are 11-0 on the season.  Center improved to 8-2 with their win over Monte Vista and the Vikings also stayed perfect in the Southern Peaks.  They’re tied with top ranked Sanford for the top spot.  The last tuneup before the Santa Fe showdown with Rocky Ford went well for Rye tonight as they continued their domination in league action.  Rye hosts the Meloneers on Friday and both teams likely to enter without a conference loss.  They’re ranked third and fourth in the classification.

GAME NOTES:  Delta maintained sole possession of the Western Slope with their 21-point decision at Coal Ridge.  The Panthers are the lone unbeaten in conference play and also have a nice win over Moffat County.  They face Basalt on Friday and a win there gives them the league championship.  Basalt is still a game back following the 50-30 win over Roaring Fork tonight.  University created a little chaos in the Patriots by handing Eaton their first loss of the season.  The Reds opened the night tied with Platte Valley in first but now drops into a second place tie with Brush.  Brush as expected had a tough game with Resurrection Christian but managed the nine point win.  University pushes their mark to 5-2 and stays alone in fourth.  Bulldog senior Kylie Kravig also went past the 1,000 career point mark in the victory.
