If you thought Monarch’s Sienna Williams’ freshman season was something to marvel over —just take a look at her production this winter.

Through eight games listed for the 6-foot-3 sophomore, she is top three in the state in average rebounds (18.2) and blocks (5.2). Her 20.5 points per game, meanwhile, is the 13th-most in the 6A classification.

In a win over Holy Family a week ago, Williams scored 20 points and had 23 boards. It was her third straight game with at least 20 points. Her 23 rebounds were just three less than the Tigers had as a team (26).

In this week’s look-in on Class 6A-4A girls’ hoops, let’s take a look at a couple of standout underclassmen from across the state.

Class 6A

Monarch’s Williams, sophomore: She’s recorded double-doubles in seven of eight games listed on MaxPreps.

Her production has been ridiculous. She’s accounted for 42% of her team’s 395 points and 46% of its rebounds.

Her teammate Charlotte Weiss, meanwhile, is second among 6A freshmen with 21 made 3s (also in just eight games listed).

Loveland’s Courtlyn Yaussi, sophomore: Averaging 21.2 points per game, she’s the state’s leading 3-point shooter with 35 made from behind the arc.

In a loss to Thompson Valley on Saturday, she hit 7 of 13 3s and finished with 21 points.

Ralston Valley’s Santana Sabus, sophomore: She has led the Mustangs to a 7-4 start to the season thanks to her 22.3 points on 46% shooting and her 9.7 rebounds.

No other player for the Mustangs is averaging double-digit points.

Highlands Rach’s Jayda Rogers, freshman: Through nine games with stats for the Falcons, 6A’s leading scoring freshman is averaging 13.9 points and 6.4 rebounds.

She is shooting 63% from the field. Only once this season did she shoot under 50% in a game.

Overland’s Michaela Halton, sophomore: Her 93 buckets are the fourth-most in the state.

Halton is averaging 20.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 steals for the Trailblazers (10-2). She’s scored double digits in every game this winter and is a remarkable 36 of 39 from the free throw line (92%).

Broomfield’s Reece Gilpatrick, freshman: Through nine games, the 6-4 freshman was averaging 12.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

No stats were listed by the Eagles in their loss to Valor Christian on Saturday. The night before, she played limited minutes in a 53-point win over Centaurus, where she finished 3 of 4 inside the arc with eight points and five boards.

Class 5A

Standley Lake’s Sydney Martin, sophomore: The 5-11 sophomore leads 5A in double-doubles and made free throws (68).

Her 11.8 rebounds are second in the class. Her 3.4 blocks are third. Her 58 offensive boards are first.

In her first two games in 2025, she went 14 of 14 from the free throw line. On the year, she’s 68 of 91 (75%).

Mead’s Madi Clark, sophomore: Clark was a big piece to the Mavericks’ run to the state semifinals last season. And she’s proving to be vital early this winter for them as well.

Averaging 13.1 points and 5.8 rebounds — both tops on the team — she’s had double-digit points in five straight games. In her last three, she’s gone 15 of 26 from the field.

The Mavericks are 11-2 as they travel to 6A Monarch on Tuesday.

Adams City’s Arianna Blue, sophomore: The 5-4 point guard is having a nice offensive season, averaging 11.3 points and 4.2 rebounds. But it’s her defensive numbers that really pop.

Her 5.7 steals per game are the fifth-most in the classification.

In a win over Montbello last week, she and senior teammate Evelyn Reyes each had eight steals. (Reyes also had 10 blocks).

Northglenn’s Evelynn James, sophomore: She’s the third-leading scorer in 5A at 20.8 points per game.

In December, she scored in the 30s twice, having 37 and 30 in wins over Montbello and Wheat Ridge.

Niwot’s Alaina Loomis, freshman: She’s averaging 10. 3 points for a program that appears headed in the right direction.

The Cougars are 8-3 so far this season and are looking for their first winning campaign since 2015.

Class 4A

D’Evelyn Colleen Monahan, sophomore: The sophomore guard has been on fire to start 2025, averaging 25 points in three games, shooting better than 50% in each of them.

On the year, she’s averaging 15.6 points and 5.7 rebounds for the unbeaten Cougars (11-0).

Northridge’s Sophia Carbajal, sophomore: The 6-1 sophomore, coming off an impressive freshman season, is averaging the fourth-most points and rebounds in the state at 25.7 and 15.8.

She has a double-double in all nine games for Northridge (4-5). In consecutive wins last week, she averaged 27.5 points and 13 rebounds. She shot 20 of 27 from the field.

Eaton’s Coutney Steinkamp, sophomore: She leads Eaton (5-4) with 21.2 points per game.

In her last three games, she’s scored at least 20. In a win over Highlands on Friday, she went 7 of 11 from the free throw line and finished with 23.

DSST: Montview’s Sa’Veyah Rogers, sophomore: Averaging 19.6 points per game, she’s had at least 20 points in five of seven games listed this winter.

She had 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting in a loss to DSST: Cedar on Friday.
