Girls Top 10

Conference play continues for top 10 girls’ basketball teams again this week.  Leading the Tuesday list of games are important battles in the 5A Front Range and 4A Tri Valley.

#5 Fossil Ridge and #7 Horizon are two of four remaining unbeatens in the Front Range conference and they begin the night tied with Legacy and Mountain Range in first place.  Both the Sabercats and Hawks will be favored in future matchups with the Lightning and Mustangs, tonight’s winner becomes the favorite land the conference crown.

#6 Holy Family and #9 Berthoud are tied with Windsor atop the Tri Valley conference.  All remaining league teams have two losses already so it seems to be a three-team race nearing the halfway point of the schedule.  Berthoud (11-1) has the better record but Holy Family (6-4) has played the stronger schedule.

A good matchup out west without any conference bearing pits #5 Delta (3A) against #8 Montrose (4A).  Delta (8-1) has won four straight since a loss at Centauri and is coming off a strong showing against Basalt (56-15) last week.  Montrose has won 13 of 14 games with a lone loss against a New Mexico opponent.  They took out Rifle 47-31 in their last outing.
