ARVADA — And just like that … the Jeffco League boys golf regular season is over.
On the first full day of the Fall (Tuesday, Sept. 22), the final Jeffco League tournament was held at West Woods Golf Club in Arvada.
Valor Christian freshman Drew Kettler had the low round for the Class 5A individuals. Kettler shot a 3-under-par, 69 to edge Arvada West senior Collin Portie by a single stroke.
However, Portie’s round of 70 was low enough to surpass Columbine junior Connor Young for the 5A Jeffco individual medalist title. Portie was able to repeat as the 5A Jeffco individual medalist. He had a total of 344 strokes through the six league tournaments where the highest score is dropped. Young was three strokes behind with a 347.

Kettler finished third with a 348.
Despite not having an individual in the top-3, Ralston Valley cruised to the 5A Jeffco team title with a 48-stroke margin of victory over second-place Columbine. Senior Noah Ramsey and sophomore Liam Braketa finished fourth and fifth, respectively, for the Mustangs. Chatfield junior Ryder Hurley took sixth.
On the 4A/3A side, Conifer junior Zane Arndt had the low round of 4-over-par, 76. Arndt was a stroke better than Golden senior Johnny Kirkpatrick, Littleton senior Thomas Kusner and Wheat Ridge senior Noah Weil, who all shot rounds of 77.
Dakota Ridge senior Jax Orr was able to hang on to win the 4A Jeffco medalist title. Orr finished with a 73.8 scoring average during league play. Kirkpatrick placed second and Golden junior Mason Schiche finished third.
Golden’s Cooper Buchholz, Nick Goodspeed and Logan Miller also finished in the top-10 in the final 4A/3A Jeffco individual standings to lift the Demons to the 4A/3A Jeffco League team title.
The CHSAA state tournaments will take place coming up Oct. 5 and 6. The 5A state tournament will be held at Columbine Country Club. The 4A meet is at Lone Tree Golf Club and the 3A state meet is scheduled for Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa.
