Throughout the week Colorado Preps will provide a blog each night to track playoff brackets and results.  You may get your scores in other places but we will tell you what the results mean as teams advance through either the district tournaments in Classes 1A-2A-3A and state tournament brackets in Classes 4A-5A.  Check back to these stories often as we will update as results come in.

Colorado Preps will also update brackets in the respective divisions each day of the week.

BOYS

  • Defending state champion Belleview Christian is through to the semifinals of 1A District 8 as they earned a forfeit over Beth Eden.  As the tournament top seed, they will host a semifinal on Thursday against either Flatirons Academy or Rocky Mountain Lutheran.
  • Denver Jewish Day is seeded second to Belleview in 1A District 8 and they also advance with a 75-17 demolition of Mile High Academy.  They face either Denver Waldorf or Front Range Baptist in the semifinals on Thursday.
  • Denver Waldorf is the third team through to the semifinals in 1A District 8 as they beat Front Range Baptist 50-39.
  • Flatirons Academy reaches the Final Four in 1A District 8 as they downed Rocky Mountain Lutheran 57-44
    • Semifinals in 1A District 8 are now set for Thursday

  • Twin Peaks Charter got the pigtail win over Poudre Community tonight and that moves them into a quarterfinal pairing with top seeded Heritage Christian on Tuesday.  Heritage Christian has played well down the stretch; beating Denver Christian before falling at Wray on Saturday.
  • Peetz wins the 1A District 4 pigtail over Weldon Valley so the Bulldogs reach the quarterfinals where they will meet top seeded Briggsdale on Wednesday.
  • Trinidad enjoyed a long road trip to South Park and picked up a pigtail round win over the Burros.  The Miners are back on the road tomorrow night against #1 Sanford in the quarterfinals.
  • Grand Valley keeps their season alive with a 51-39 win over North Fork in a pigtail game in the 3A West Slope bracket.  The Cardinals now visit top seeded and unbeaten Aspen in a quarterfinal on Tuesday.
  • Clear Creek gets a home win over Addenbrooke Academy in an opening round game inside 2A District 4.  The Golddiggers now challenge top seeded Denver Christian in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
  • Platte Canyon also advances to the round of eight in 2A District 4 as they beat Denver Academy 69-58 on Monday.  The Huskies head to Limon on Tuesday for a quarterfinal contest.
  • Crowley County remains alive for a spot in the 2A regional tournament bracket.  Their 70-35 win over Swallows Charter tonight pushes them into the semifinals of District 6.  One more win gets them to the regional bracket as one of the top three finishers from the district.
  • Fowler will be the opponent for Crowley County as the Grizzlies knocked off Las Animas 63-49 tonight.  Fowler and Crowley County play the very late nightcap in the 2A District 6 semifinals Thursday night at La Junta HS.  Tip time is listed at 9:00pm.
  • Holly downs Hoehne 64-44 and Rye moves past Swink 52-45 in the lower half of the 2A District 6 bracket
    • Semifinals are now set for Thursday at La Junta HS
    • 6:00pm:  Holly vs Rye
    • 9:00pm:  Fowler vs Crowley
      • Winners advance to Championship round on Friday and also earn automatic bids to regionals
  • Seventh seeded Center advances in 2A District 1 as expected.  They rolled past Sargent 79-29 on Tuesday and now has a rematch with #2 Crested Butte on Tuesday.
  • Bethune wins an elimination game over Flagler (57-48) in 1A District 5.  The Bobcats next face Genoa Hugo on the Pirates home court as part of the tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday.
  • Quarterfinal activity in 1A District 3 on Monday as #4 La Veta picked up a win over #5 South Baca 52-30.  That pushes the Red Hawks into the semifinals against top seeded #1 Kim/Branson on Thursday at 4:30pm.  That contest is at Las Animas HS.
  • Points were hard to come by but DSST-Byers held off Strive Prep 29-19 in a first round game inside the 3A Colorado/Confluence bracket.  The winner faces top seeded Englewood in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
  • Highland outscored Platte Valley 97-70 in a 3A Patriot quarterfinal that concluded tonight after starting on Friday.  The game was delayed due to a health emergency with one of the officials which we are happy to report is doing much better today.
  • Last 1A game of the night goes to Hi Plains as they rolled past Deer Trail 49-13 in District 5.  The Patriots advance to the quarterfinals on Wednesday as they visit Idalia.
  • Arvada with a strong showing to reach the 3A Colorado/Confluence quarterfinals.  The Bulldogs rolled William Smith 77-38 to setup a date with #3 Eagle Ridge Academy on Tuesday.

GIRLS

  • A second playoff forfeit has occurred in Class 2A girls as Poudre Community did not play against Twin Peaks Charter.  Twin Peaks advances to meet Heritage Christian in the District 7 quarterfinals tomorrow night.
  • La Veta’s win over Walsh tonight pushes them into the semifinals of the 1A District 3 bracket.  The Red Hawks now challenge South Baca who received a bye to semifinals as the tournament’s number one seed.
  • Genoa Hugo beats higher seeded Deer Trail 30-26 on a neutral court to reach the 1A District 5 quarterfinals.  The Pirates now visit top seeded Lone Start on Tuesday night.
  • Bethune is the second lower seed to post a win in the 1A District 5 pigtail round as the Bobcats stunned Flagler 41-36.  Bethune faces #2 Stratton on Tuesday on the road.
  • Crested Butte is the first winner in the 2A District 1 bracket as they stuffed Trinidad 58-39 on Monday.  The Titans now head to #1 Sanford for a quarterfinal game on Tuesday.
  • A rare postseason win for Aurora West Prep as they downed DSST Conservatory Green in a Colorado/Confluence district pigtail on Monday.  The final was 44-24.  AW Prep visits Eagle Ridge Academy in Brighton in tomorrow semifinals.
