Colorado PrepsCast

Over the past few weeks, our Sunday podcast has focused on rankings and our thoughts on the top teams in each division.  With playoffs now underway in five of the seven classifications, we changed up our report a bit and provided our thoughts on the post-season pairings released today in 6man, 8man, 1A, 2A and 5A football.  And at the end of our report, we jumped on our soapbox and presented three changes we would like to see in seeding future playoff brackets.  We also request your thoughts on our report.  You can send us an email to [email protected] or comment below this story or on our Facebook page.

  1. Kevin – thanks for your comprehensive coverage of Colorado high school football, especially for the small schools. It’s great to know more about what’s going on around the state, especially on the eastern plains. Thanks also for your support of district/conference champs getting the home field advantage in the first round. For Pikes Peak Christian and Front Range Christian in the 8-man ranks, the district competition wasn’t as strong as hoped. Nevertheless, both teams got the work done and should be rewarded accordingly with a home game.

    • Thanks for the kind words – the other side of the argument is that Front Range lost to Byers by 32 points and the Bulldogs finished last in the rugged Plains league – despite that I still think a league champion should be rewarded in some fashion.

    • Current RPI is here

So the likes of Lewis Palmer, Fort Morgan, George Washington, Glenwood Springs are teams on the bubble

Huge games this week will determine the bracket: Mead vs Frederick, Erie vs Fort Morgan, Durango vs Pueblo East, Palmer Ridge-Discovery Canyon will all help decide league championships and alter the bracket
