In a somewhat limited Saturday schedule we found five very important games concerning league championships and the playoff race. We list those games below and give you a quick breakdown of their importance.
- Fort Collins (3-4) at Skyline (6-1)
- Alamosa (5-2) at Pagosa Springs (4-3)
- Eaton (5-2) at Prospect Ridge (3-4)
- Justice (2-3) at Pikes Peak Christian (3-4)
- North Park (4-2) at Hanover (5-2)
Skyline is ranked 10th in Class 4A and needs a win a to stay within a game of first place Windsor in the 4A Northern conference.  The Falcons face the Wizards next week so a win today makes that game very important to the league championship. Fort Collins is 25th in RPI points and may be in the role of spoiler.
The winner between Alamosa and Pagosa Springs takes over second place behind Bayfield in the 2A Intermountain league. Alamosa faces Bayfield next week so a win today keeps them in the running for a league crown. Pagosa Springs clinches second place with a victory and if that happens, then Bayfield also wraps up the league championship. Concerning RPI, Pagosa Springs is 15th and Alamosa 16th going in.
Eaton must get a road victory at Prospect Ridge today to keep pace with Resurrection Christian in the 2A Patriot East. A win clinches a top two finish for both the Reds and Cougars and makes their meeting next week winner-take-all for the title. Prospect Ridge can move closer to a second-place finish with an upset today. They’ve already lost a conference game to Resurrection Christian. The Miners are 23rd in RPI points and Eaton is 12th.
With Rocky Mountain Lutheran blowing by Miami Yoder last night, Justice must beat Pikes Peak Christian today to stay in the 8man Central division discussion. A win moves them to 3-1 in conference play and one game back of Rocky Mountain Lutheran. Justice and Lutheran play in week nine. If Pikes Peak Christian gets the win, then Rocky Mountain Lutheran is the league champion.
North Park and Hanover is a non-conference game and we list it strictly for RPI purposes. North Park is 8th in the standings and is in line to host a first round game and because of their location, that could be a huge advantage. Hanover is 13th and should be safely in the bracket regardless of the outcome today.
