During November, the Colorado Preps Network provides special playoff editions of the Scoreboard Show.  And while we run through all the scores several, the fewer number of games also allows us to visit with more coaches than during the regular season.  This past week we visited with almost every coach in Class 2A and below that has reached the semifinals or championship games in their respective division.  To help prep with the games set for this Saturday, we provide the audio on-demand from those interviews.
Another playoff edition of the Scoreboard Show will be presented from 3:30-5:00pm Saturday afternoon on the Colorado Preps Radio Network.
Coaches appear courtesy of the NAPA Hotline.  To access the interview of your choice, please click the play button under the coach.

STRATTON/LIBERTY – Toby Kechter

The Knighted Eagles put themselves in position to win a second straight six man state championship by moving past Cheyenne Wells in the semifinals.

FLEMING – John King

The Wildcats stayed unbeaten and moved into the state championship round with an exciting road win at top seeded Kit Carson.

DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN – Ben Fusco

The Eagles had to battle through four quarters but they survived Vail Christian 38-28 in the state quarterfinals.  Now they prep for a rematch with Sedgwick County who handed the Eagles their only loss of the regular season.

FOWLER – Mark Van Sickle

On the road in Mancos, the Grizzlies picked up their 11th win of the season by ralling past the Bluejays.  They now advance to the state semifinals where they will be at home against Pikes Peak Christian.

PIKES PEAK CHRISTIAN – Kelvin Thorne

The Eagles are in the Final Four for a second straight year after downing Sanford in the state quarterfinals last week.  A win over Fowler this week gets them into the state championship game for the first time in school history.

HOLYOKE – Dusty Sprague

The Dragons pitched a shutout in the state quarterfinals and downed Colorado Springs Christian for the second time this year.  Now they get on the road to face Limon.  They edged the Badgers 14-12 in the final week of the regular season.

LIMON – Mike O’Dwyer

For the second time in a month, Limon picked up a road win at conference rival Wray.  This victory though pushed the defending state champs back into the semifinals where they meet yet another league opponent in Holyoke.

RESURRECTION CHRISTIAN – Jeff Van Winkle

Despite several turnovers, the Cougars advanced to the Class 2A state semifinals with a win over Platte Valley.  This week, they visit Sterling as they look to avenge their only loss of the season.

STERLING – Rob Busmente

A tremendous defensive effort pushed Sterling into the 2A Final Four as they blanked Lamar last week.  Up next is a rematch with Resurrection Christian.  They outlasted the Cougars 13-7 in overtime in early September.

BASALT – Carl Frerichs

The Longhorns converted a fourth and goal from the 33 yard line in double overtime to stun top seeded Rifle 21-14.  They seek their first ever visit to the state championship game against Delta this weekend.

DELTA – Ben Johnson

In a back-and-forth game with Faith Christian, the Panthers scored the winning points on a 40-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.  In the semifinals, they look for a second win over league rival Basalt.
