BRIGHTON – Jeff Giger
The Bulldogs topped Greeley West 7-0. They moved to 6-1 on the season and stayed tied with Broomfield atop the 4A Longs Peak conference
FLEMING – John King
With their 63-14 win over Briggsdale, the Wildcats improved to 8-0 on the year and locked down the North Central championship.
CLASSICAL ACADEMY – Justin Rich
It took a couple of attempts, but the Titans booted a field goal with no time left to edge Elizabeth 10-9. The win pushed them into sole possession of first place in the Tri Peaks.
HOLYOKE – Dusty Sprague
The Dragons stayed perfect on the season (7-0) with a tough road win at Wray 34-14. They squandered a 14-0 lead but then scored the final 20 points of the game to pick up the win.
HIGHLAND – Zach Sandstrom
With the 33-20 win over Flatirons Academy, the Huskies will finish no worse than second behind Strasburg in the 1A North chase. They sit at 4-3 on the season but have played, according to RPI, the toughest schedule in the division.
STERLING – Rob Busmente
A fast start pushed the Tigers to an impressive 24-6 win at Platte Valley on Friday. The win puts the Tigers atop the Patriot East conference and keeps them in the discussion for the top overall playoff seed in Class 2A
SARGENT – Trevan Pepper
The Farmers kept their Mountain division title and playoff hopes alive with a hard fought 26-24 road win at Dove Creek. The win leaves the Farmers tied with Dove Creek and Mancos in second place and all are one game back of Sanford. Sargent and Sanford play in the final week.
ROCKY FORD – Sean McNames
It’s been since 2010 that the Meloneers have advanced to the playoffs but they took a major step to get there this year with a 19-12 win over Peyton. They are now alone atop the Santa Fe standings.
