TOP 10 FOOTBALL – WEEK 7

A total of 12 games on the Top 10 Football slate pit ranked teams against one another and the list includes a very attractive matchup of Rifle and Delta in Class 2A.  They’re ranked 1-2 in the division and both clubs have been dominant through the first six weeks of the season.

Eight man has three top 10 pairings including two huge games in the Plains conference between #1 Sedgwick County and #4 Dayspring Christian and #5 Merino and #6 Caliche.  Another battle of unbeaten league leaders can be found between #3 Mancos and #7 Sanford in the Mountain division.

Classes 3A, 4A and six man all feature two top 10 pairings.  In 4A, #3 Montrose and #7 Heritage collide in a very important league opener while surprising unbeatens #5 Vista Peak and #10 Hinkley begin in the Pioneer schedule this week.

In Class 3A, the winner between #5 Green Mountain and #8 Conifer likely grabs the Mt Metro crown while #1 Palmer Ridge looks to begin their conference schedule with a win over #7 Lutheran.

In six man, #2 Fleming looks to take another step to the North crown by beating #7 North Park.  The Wildcats are one game back in the chase.  #3 Stratton/Liberty and #10 Granada also square off in a nice non-conference battle.

One game apiece is found in 5A and 1A and both will probably determine league champions.  #6 Regis and #10 Legend battle for the 5A South title while #1 Strasburg is challenged by #9 Highland for the 1A North Central crown.
