Regular season action comes to a close this week for teams in 5A, 2A, 1A and eight man and several league championships are still up for grabs.  Most conferences have yet to decide champions and in many cases this week, league leaders square off for the crown.  Those matchups highlight our top games list for week ten.
We also suspend the number of games listed in each class this week.  All throughout the season, we’ve listed five games across each division but that number is not in effect this year as some divisions need to crown more than five champions in the final week while in other classes do not have a full contingent of top matchups.

CLASS 5A

Fairview at Rocky Mountain
Grandview at Cherry Creek
Cherokee Trail at Eaglecrest
Valor Christian at Highlands Ranch
Pomona at Ralston Valley
NOTES:  Fairview clinches the Front Range title by beating Rocky Mountain on the road.  A Rocky Mountain win leaves both teams tied with Horizon in first provided the Hawks also beat Legacy.  If Legacy beats Horizon, then the Fairview-Rocky Mountain winner is the league champion.  Grandview and Cherry Creek play for the Metro West crown as the winner takes home the top trophy.  Cherokee Trail and Eaglecrest battle for third in the same league.  Valor Christian and Highlands Ranch are both 4-0 in the Metro South so the winner lands the championship.  It’s the same scenario in the Metro West between Pomona and Ralston Valley.  Wins by Cherry Creek and Ralston Valley also give both clubs a perfect 10-0 regular season.  Regis (South) and Smoky Hill (Metro 10) have already clinched their respective titles.

CLASS 4A

Ponderosa at Montrose
Brighton at Broomfield
Fruita Monument at Standley Lake
Pine Creek at Grand Junction Central
Rampart at Air Academy
NOTES:  Ponderosa and Montrose are both 3-0 in the Metro so the winner takes over sole possession of first place.  Montrose has already beaten third place Heritage so they wrap up the championship with a win.  Ponderosa meets Heritage in week 10 so they cannot clinch unless Heritage falls to Gateway.  Fruita Monument shares the Pioneer lead with Vista Peak but Standley Lake is just one game back.  The Gators fall out of the league chase with a loss.  The Pine Creek-GJ Central winner takes over the Southern lead.  Central clinches with a win.  Pine Creek only secures the crown with a win if Vista Ridge also falls to Palmer.  Rampart is tied with Pueblo West atop the Pikes Peak so they need a win at third place Air Academy to hold their position.

CLASS 3A

Lutheran at Discovery Canyon
Conifer at Evergreen
Pueblo Central at Pueblo East
Sand Creek at Harrison
NOTES:  Discovery Canyon and Palmer Ridge share the Central conference lead but Lutheran is one game back in third.  The Lions have lost to Palmer Ridge but they’re in good position for no worse than second with a win.  DCC and Palmer Ridge play in the final week.  Conifer and Evergreen meet in the annual Mountain Bowl and there’s plenty on the line.  Conifer clinches the Mt Metro title with a win.  Evergreen creates 3-way tie with the Lobos and Green Mountain with a win.  Pueblo Central and Pueblo East are two of three teams at 2-1 and in second place in the South Central.  They’re tied with Durango and all three teams are one back of Pueblo South.  If East wins, then Pueblo South wraps up the league crown by beating Pueblo Centennial.  The race remains undecided if Pueblo Central gets the victory.  Harrison can clinch a second straight Southern title by beating Sand Creek.  The Panthers lead Falcon by one game and already have a win over the Falcons.

CLASS 2A

Englewood at Ridgeview Academy
D’Evelyn at Faith Christian
Alamosa at Pagosa Springs
Weld Central at Sterling
Elizabeth at Lamar
NOTES:  The winner of Englewood-Ridgeview Academy lands the Colorado crown and it’s likely only the winner gets into the playoffs.  Faith Christian leads D’Evelyn and Bennett by one game in the Flatirons so they’re the league champions outright with a win this week.  A D’Evelyn win likely leaves all three teams in first place.  Pagosa Springs is coming off a huge win over Bayfield but the Pirates still need to beat Alamosa to clinch the Intermountain championship.  If they fall, the two clubs end up tied with Bayfield atop the standings.  A league champion must be crowned as it’s likely that’s the conference team headed to the playoffs.  Sterling must beat Weld Central to officially claim the Patriot East title.  Weld Central stayed one game back with their win over Brush.  If they upset the Tigers, the two teams and Platte Valley will end up tied atop the standings.  Elizabeth and Lamar battle for second place behind Classical Academy in the Tri Peaks.  The Titans clinched the crown with their win at La Junta.  Resurrection Christian is the second team already with a crown as they will finish on top of the Patriot West race.

CLASS 1A

Platte Canyon at Manual
Limon at Holyoke
Flatirons Academy at Strasburg
Ignacio at Centauri
Colorado Springs Christian at Florence
Hotchkiss at Meeker
NOTES:  The top games list is expanded to six games this week as Rocky Ford is the only team to clinch a league title thus far.  The Meloneers wrapped up the Santa Fe crown by beating Trinidad last week.  Four of the games on the schedule involve the winner landing the championship and the loser ending up second.  Maybe the most important of the bunch is in the Foothills where it’s highly likely that only the league champion gets into the bracket.  That makes the Platte Canyon-Manual showdown basically a playoff game already.  Limon and Holyoke square off for the top spot in the North Central; Colorado Springs Christian and Florence battle for the Tri Peaks title and Hotchkiss and Meeker met for the West Slope championship.  Strasburg clinches another North crown with a win over Flatirons Academy.  That result also leaves Highland in second.  Flatirons Academy creates three-way tie for the title with an upset.  Centauri is heavily favored so they win the Southern Peaks title by beating Ignacio.  A Bobcats stunner leaves them tied with Centauri and Monte Vista in first.

EIGHT MAN

Sargent at Sanford
Dove Creek at Mancos
Merino at Sedgwick County
Caliche at Haxtun
NOTES:  Sanford clinches the Mountain championship and finishes the season 9-0 by beating long-time rival Sargent.  If Sargent wins, then the door also opens for Mancos for a share of the crown.  If Sargent and Mancos both win, then those two and Sanford are tied atop the standings.  If Sanford and Dove Creek both win, then Sanford is the league champion with Dove Creek, Sargent and Mancos all sharing second place.  Sedgwick County can land a fifth straight Plains title by beating Merino.  The Rams are third with a loss but create a three-way tie for the title with Dayspring Christian if they can beat the Cougars for a second straight time in the regular season.  Caliche and Haxtun battle for fourth in the Plains conference and we mention the game because both clubs have a good shot of making the playoffs.  Elsewhere, Fowler and Holly have secured the top two spots in the Ark Valley; Elbert is the Central league champion and Pikes Peak Christian has landed the South title.  Vail Christian is the Western Slope champion with West Grand #2 and Soroco #3.  Rangely and Plateau Valley battle for fourth this week.
